The pass is not tarred and can be a little treacherous after rain, but offers spectacular views over the Little Karoo and the Great Karoo to the north. Other famous activities in the Oudtshoorn area are The Cango Caves, Wilgewandel Holiday Farm, Cango Wildlife Ranch and Rus and Vrede Waterfall, which all are within a radius of 15 km from Die Fonteine.
